For The Health Of It: Why I Became a Nutrition and Wellness Coach

From Corporate Executive to Empowering Others: My Journey to Becoming a Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach

Hi, I’m Julie, owner of SNH Nutrition and head Nutrition & Lifestyle coach. Today, I want to share my personal journey with you—a journey that led me from the corporate world to follow my passion for helping others become the healthiest versions of themselves.

Looking back, I found myself trapped in the relentless cycle of the corporate world. The demanding schedules, constant pressure to perform, and the stress of trying to balance work and personal life began to take a toll on me. I was caught in a whirlwind of high expectations and self-neglect, which manifested as chronic pain, constant headaches, and an overwhelming mental fog. It felt like every day was a battle—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

I'm sure many of you can relate to this struggle. We often push ourselves to the limits, sacrificing our own well-being for our families or in pursuit of professional success. But there comes a point when we realize that enough is enough—we can't keep ignoring the signals our bodies and minds are desperately trying to send us.

That breaking point arrived for me, and I knew deep down that I needed to make a change. I decided to take a leave of absence from my role as the Director of Customer Communications at a large health insurance company. During this time, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. It was a bold and terrifying leap into the unknown, but also the most liberating decision I've ever made.

As I slowed down and started implementing self-care strategies, my husband reminded me of my love for nutrition and fitness. “You are the best version of yourself when you’re working out,” he said. I started exploring different avenues, my passion for fitness and nutrition began to reemerge. I was reminded about the profound impact of proper nutrition and lifestyle choices on our overall well-being. It became clear that I had found my calling—to help and support others struggling to navigate their own paths toward health and happiness.

That's when I discovered Strength N Honor—a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to empowering others through wellness and fitness. It was a perfect fit for my newfound purpose. I joined Strength N Honor to train with Steve Konopka. 

At Strength N Honor, I found a space where I could merge my passion for nutrition and fitness with my desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. I knew I had to share my story, my triumph over pain and adversity, to inspire and guide others who were on their own journeys toward optimal health and well-being.

Since joining Strength N Honor, my life has been forever changed. I started my transformation journey slowly, using the gym as my sanctuary—a place where I could focus solely on myself without the weight of external expectations. Initially, I didn't realize the profound impact it would have on my mind, body, and soul.

As I dedicated myself to consistent exercise and proper nutrition, I noticed incredible shifts in my overall well-being. My strength became evident, not just in my physical muscles, but also in the clarity of my mind. The chronic pain and headaches that had plagued me for so long began to fade away. I experienced a surge of energy that I hadn't felt in years.

But the transformation didn't stop there. My relationship with food evolved as well. My cravings decreased, and I found myself naturally gravitating towards nourishing, whole foods. I discovered the power of hydration and started drinking more water. My sleep quality improved, and I no longer found myself reaching for late-night snacks. I achieved a newfound balance between nutrition and fitness, realizing that both were integral to my overall well-being.

Through this transformation, I truly understood the profound impact nutrition and fitness can have on our lives. It became my mission to share this knowledge and support others who were yearning for a similar transformation—to guide them through their struggles and empower them to become the healthiest versions of themselves.
